If there may be one certainty in life it’s that humans will all the time look for tactics to do things quicker and smarter.
The pursuit to attain faster speeds and reach destinations sooner is in our DNA.
From Donald Campbel’s world land speed records within the revered Bluebird-Proteus CN7 to Concorde flying at Mach 2.04, the obsession with ‘travelling fast’ is enduring.
Private jet builders are repeatedly looking for that quicker aircraft to move their wealthy customers travel from A to B very quickly in any respect.
And there is no such thing as a shortage of healthy competition within the business jet industry from Bombardier to Cessna and Dassault to Gulfstream.
But which private jet, either already flying today or soon to be released, is the fastest?
AeroTime contacted several of the leading private jet manufacturers to find the quickest.
(The speed of sound – Mach 1 – will depend on altitude and temperature. A jet moving on the speed of sound at sea-level will probably be travelling at 760 miles per hour, nevertheless at 30,000 that is reduced to 677 miles per hour.)
Honorable mention
