On December 10, Japan Airlines revealed its inaugural route for its brand-new Airbus A350-1000. The airline will likely be entered into service on a route connecting Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND) to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in Latest York. The route will begin on January 24, 2024. The airline also announced a brand new route that may even be operated by its A350-1000.
Inaugural service
The primary flight of the Japan Airlines A350-1000 will operate to Latest York JFK. The service, which will likely be registered as JL005 and JL006, will begin shortly after the brand new yr begins. This service will operate as a each day service, although the A350-1000 will operate on alternate days. It would transition to a each day service operated by the A350-1000 once Japan Airlines receives its second aircraft.

The initial service from Haneda to Latest York will depart Tokyo at 11:05 local time and arrive in Latest York at 10:00 local time. From March 10 to March 30, the arrival time in Latest York will likely be 11:00 local time. The return flight will depart Latest York at 12:40 local time and can arrive in Tokyo at 17:15 local time the next day. From March 10 to March 29, the departure time from Latest York will actually be 13:40 local time. Tickets for these flights will go on sale starting today, December 11.
Japan Airlines also announced a brand new service to Dallas-Fort Price International Airport (DFW) in Texas. This route will operate from Haneda International Airport (HND) in Tokyo. There’s currently no set date for this route, although Japan Airlines has stated that it would begin after the airline receives its third A350-1000.
Latest Japan Airlines A350-1000
Japan Airlines currently has 13 A350-1000s on order through Airbus. These aircraft are set to interchange the airline’s fleet of thirteen aging Boeing 777-300ERs. Per ch-aviation, the common age of its fleet of 777s is 16.8 years old. The brand new A350-1000 aircraft will offer improved fuel efficiency and can reduce cabin noise. Japan Airlines has also pledged to interchange 1% of fuel onboard with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on all flights to Japan. That is to assist reduce CO2 emissions and assist with sustainability within the aviation industry.

Together with the introduction of the brand new aircraft, Japan Airlines also recently unveiled its latest first-class suites for the A350-1000. The brand new aircraft will hold six first-class suites. The suites are made more spacious by removing the overhead bins and moving them underneath the bed. The seats include a settee, a chair with a bed, and a double bed configuration. The seats even have headrests with built-in speakers, so passengers can use inflight entertainment without headphones. The inflight entertainment can also be displayed on a screen that could be a full 43 inches. The suites even have a wardrobe for hanging jackets, wireless chargers, and full-size power outlets.
The brand new A350-1000 configurations even have business class seats with privacy doors and seats that lie flat. The aircraft will seat 54 passengers on this configuration. The premium economy cabin seats even have seats with partitions between passengers and recline electronically. Even the seats in the usual economy cabin have a pitch of 33–34 inches with large fold out tables.
Two Japan Airlines A350-1000s have been spotted, although neither have been delivered. The primary aircraft, registered as JA01WJ, is scheduled to be delivered in December this yr. The second and third aircraft, registered as JA02WJ and JA03WJ, are each scheduled to be delivered in January 2024.
