Ryanair reported profit after tax of €2.15 billion for the first half of its financial year, which began in April 2026. The airline said passenger numbers increased 6% and revenue rose 3% to €10.08 billion compared with the same period a year earlier.
Key details
- Average fares fell 4% during the first half.
- Ryanair said it had hedged 80% of its FY27 fuel needs at $67 per barrel and 25% of its FY28 needs at about $95 per barrel.
- The airline forecast 3% passenger growth for the rest of the financial year, reaching 214 million passengers.
- Ryanair said it was reviewing costs that include airport contracts, labor agreements, crew ratios, and the use of AI in operational and administrative work. Potential labor-agreement changes could include temporary pay freezes.
Ryanair reported 6% passenger growth in the first half of its financial year.
Why it matters
The results show passenger growth alongside lower average fares, while higher revenue accompanied lower profit after tax. Ryanair’s fuel hedges set prices for part of its fuel requirements in the next two financial years, and its traffic forecast gives passengers and airport partners a measure of the airline’s expected near-term scale.
