Mozart’s birthplace adds a day by day flight
Salzburg Airport is the second-busiest airport in Austria. It’s situated 1.2 mi (2 km) from the Austrian-German border. Even though it occupies a small space of 432 acres (175 hectares), it has an extended 9,022-ft (2,750 m) runway that may handle a landing of a Boeing 747-400.

Salzburg is a preferred tourist destination with its baroque architecture and history as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birthplace. It is also linked to the Austrian ski resorts, offering local businesses a year-round advantage in passenger flows.
“We’re pleased to announce the brand new route from London Luton to Salzburg and provides travelers one other wonderful holiday option while also connecting families between the UK and Austria,” said Zsuzsa Trubek, Communications Manager at Wizz Air.
Other airlines operating between London and Salzburg are Jet2, easyJet, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Ryanair. Also, Wizz Air will compete within the budget price range with the latter on this route. The Ryanair group, including Ryanair and Lauda Europe, operates day by day flights to Salzburg from London Stansted (STN).
Other destinations available with Wizz from Salzburg are Skopje, Macedonia, and Bucharest, Romania, which were launched in 2020.
Wizz firmly growing in London Luton
The Hungarian ultra-low-cost airline determinedly grows its network from London Luton. Just a couple of weeks ago, the airline announced the restoration of a daily flight from Luton to Chisinau (KIV), Moldova.
Wow: Wizz Air Has Added 15 Airports To Its Network This Yr
All of those airports have joined its network in 2023.
This summer, Wizz experienced a passenger reach of 65 million at this UK airport. The airline had issues with the rapid growth of demand and committed to improving its operations to resolve UK CAA enforcement actions after a high volume of passenger complaints.
London Luton is one among the bases for Wizz, so passengers can enjoy flying to distant destinations equivalent to Turkey, Jordan, Israel, or Egypt. It will possibly also offer competitive fares for European travelers headed north, as a direct flight from London Luton to Reykjavik (KEF) with Wizz Air will start at £15.89 ($20).
Wizz Air operates a fleet of 191 Airbus A320 and A321s, with plans to upgrade all Luton-based aircraft to A321neo by 2025. Connecting another necessary European airport with London is one among the apparent initiatives for the airline to compete for first place within the European market.
