Avelo Airlines announced yesterday that it would begin flights from Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-Recent Haven Airport (HVN) to the Washington metropolitan area’s Dulles International Airport (IAD) on July 12. The low-cost carrier proudly highlights that this move makes it the one airline to fly nonstop between the 2 destinations.
Greater connections
The airline will operate on this route twice per week. Passengers will give you the option to fly on Mondays and Fridays on seats selling from $46 each way.

Connecticut’s authorities are also celebrating the move, with Governor Ned Lamont stating that the addition helps bolster access to Recent Haven. Meanwhile, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro concluded that Avelo is doing great work to link her constituents to the capital of the US.
Strong regional presence
Avelo has been going from strength to strength since commencing operations in its current form in April 2021. In three years, the airline has grown to serve over 40 different airports with its fleet of 16 Boeing 737s.
The expansion shows no signs of stopping, announcing a brand new route between Orlando and on the turn of the month. This operation will begin on June seventh and is an element of the initiative that sees the airline plan 17 recent routes in 60 days.

Following this announcement, Avelo began serving North Carolina’s Concord-Padgett Airport. This operation highlights the airline’s goal of serving smaller airports that provide the area people with higher connections across the country.
All in all, Tweed-Recent Haven Airport is an integral spot for Avelo. It acts as a base for the majority of the carrier’s flights across the East Coast. As such, the airline has been working with the airport on plans to develop a brand new terminal and extend the location’s runway.
It is not surprising that Avelo can be involved on this process. In spite of everything, the airline is flying to no less than 25 destinations from Recent Haven in July alone. In keeping with data analytics company Cirium, the busiest route is to Orlando International Airport (MCO), with 52 flights each way, providing 9,468 seats between them for the month.
