United Airlines is increasing its flights from Newark to Providenciales in June and July, offering passengers a day by day connection to the Atlantic archipelago.
Tweaking international schedules
In keeping with Cirium’s recent changes report, which is released on a weekly basis, United Airlines will increase flights from Newark Liberty International Airport to Providenciales International Airport in Turks and Caicos this summer. In 2023, United operated the EWR-PLS throughout the whole 12 months, but in the summertime months, it dropped its frequencies. In June last 12 months, the airline only had eight flights in each direction and ten in July.
As of last week, United planned to barely increase its services from Newark to Providenciales, and now, those increases are more significant. Data shows that in June and July, United was resulting from operate two weekly flights in each direction. Now, the airline will operate day by day flights through August 18, adding greater than 19,000 seats to its offering. Two variants of the Boeing 737 aircraft family will likely be deployed to PLS, the -800 and -900.

United isn’t just increasing services to Providenciales from its Newark hub, flights from Dulles International Airport are also increasing. From May 22 to August 18, United will deploy its 737-800s and -900s from Dulles to PLS, increasing its seat offering on the route by over 13,000 in the summertime months.
A number of more international routes will see increased service this summer. From May through August, United added several flights to its schedule, with the breakdown per thirty days below,
- May – 90 flights; 13,532 seats
- June – 189 flights; 27,668 seats
- July – 162 flights; 43,044 seats
- August – 130 flights; 30,780 seats
Notably, United will fly 4 times day by day from George Bush Intercontinental Airport to Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica, in June, July, and thru August 18. Before the schedule change, United planned to operate 4 flights a day just thrice weekly.

Additional summer changes
Though several international routes will increase, Easy Flying reported Monday that five domestic routes will temporarily be cut through the summer. United plans to pause services from Chicago to Palm Beach, Palm Springs, and Tucson, from Los Angeles to Palm Springs, and from Cleveland to Tampa. Between cuts, reductions, and increases on other routes, United’s net removal includes 5,358 flights and 227,589 seats from its schedule in June, July, and August.
