The Kaman excavations
Kaman is an archeological site within the province of Kırşehir in Turkey that was occupied throughout the Ottoman period in 550 BC. The excavations within the region began in 1986 under the leadership of the Prince Mikasa Foundation. The research into the excavation programs is carried out by the Japanese Institute of Anatolian Archeology (JIAA) and supported by the Middle Eastern Culture Center in Japan. The Prince Mikasa Foundation
For over 38 years, the Prince Mikasa Foundation has been performing archeological excavations in Kırşehir Kaman in Turkey. The muse supports the history of Ancient Anatolia and the world through excavation programs and training for experts and young archeologists.
The muse runs under the leadership of Mr. Sachihiro Omura, the President of the inspiration since its early days. The muse has unearthed greater than 10,000 artifacts within the region. The muse also focuses on preserving the cultural heritage while protecting the natural environment surrounding the realm.
The brand new partnership
In a ceremony held on the Turkish Embassy in Tokyo on September 29, Turkish Airlines announced its partnership with the Prince Mikasa Foundation to support the Kaman excavations and preserve the wealthy archeological heritage.
