Turkish Airlines will ramp up flights and capability across several of its US routes starting next summer. The carrier has been rapidly developing its US network and now serves 12 – soon to be 13 – destinations within the States.
Turkish adds US flights
The airline will increase flight frequencies and add seat capability to quite a few its key US destinations starting in June 2024, continuing its growth trajectory. As reported by X user Ishrion Aviation, Turkish Airlines has made the next schedule changes for next summer:
- Istanbul to Atlanta (ATL) – from 7x to 10x weekly starting June eleventh
- Istanbul to Detroit (DTW) – from 4x to 5x weekly starting July eleventh
- Istanbul to Seattle (SEA) – switching from Boeing 787-9 to Airbus A350-900 from July eighth
As Easy Flying reported this summer, Turkish Airlines will launch flights to Detroit in November, starting with three weekly flights before a rise to 4 flights per week in December, rising to 5 next summer.
US growth continues
Turkish Airlines has almost doubled its capability to the US for the reason that pandemic, operating 82% more flights in summer 2023 in comparison with 2019. Following a pointy drop in flights in 2020 and 2021, the airline operated its most-ever US flights in summer 2022 and would beat that this yr.

Together with its latest service to Detroit launching next month, TK has hinted it’s Denver International Airport (DEN) as its 14th US destination, but there was no word on when or if this may launch. Turkish Airlines serves the next US destinations:
- Atlanta (ATL)
- Boston (BOS)
- Chicago (ORD)
- Dallas (DFW)
- Houston (IAD)
- Miami (MIA)
- Latest York (JFK)
- Newark (EWR)
- Los Angeles (LAX)
- San Francisco (SFO)
- Seattle (SEA)
- Detroit (DTW) (starting Nov fifteenth).
The US has grown into the airline’s second-largest international market, topped only by Germany – in truth, it now serves more destinations within the US (12) than Germany (11). Its US flights aren’t just aimed toward outbound travelers visiting the States, as Turkish hopes to draw around two million visitors to Turkey annually.
Fleet additions
Turkish Airlines recently announced it could expand its widebody fleet with three more Boeing 787-9s, together with a lease extension on six of its Airbus A330s. On top of this, TK earlier announced the acquisition of ten more Airbus A350-900s, that are due for delivery between 2025 and 2027.

With a fleet currently numbering around 400 aircraft, the carrier has ambitious plans to operate 800 planes inside the subsequent ten years.
