Five longest routes from San Francisco
Air India has the longest route from San Francisco, at 8,691 miles, and one other two in the highest ten. The Indian airline deploys its Boeing 777-200LRs from Bengaluru and has 13 scheduled flights this month. Not far behind the Bengaluru route is Singapore, flown by Singapore Airlines and its Star Alliance partner, United Airlines. Each carriers fly the 8,440-mile route twice each day, with United deploying its Boeing 787-9s and Singapore deploying its Airbus A350-900s.

The third-longest route can be from Air India to Mumbai. The carrier’s Boeing 777-200LRs also fly the 8,401-mile route. At number 4 is Emirates, which flies its Airbus A380s from Dubai International Airport (DXB) each day. Qatar Airways’ Doha route is just 17 miles shorter than the 8,101-mile flight from Dubai. The flight to Doha is flown by Qatar’s Airbus A350-1000s.

The Chicago-based carrier deploys its Boeing 787-9s to Melbourne, but from October, it is going to deploy the larger 777-300ERs as a part of its largest-ever South Pacific expansion.
Vietnam Airlines claims the number seven spot with its Airbus A350-900 flights to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam—the route between Ho Chi Minh City and San Francisco is 7,837 miles long. Air India’s third route in the highest ten is to Delhi. As with the opposite Air India routes mentioned above, the carrier also flies its Boeing 777-200LR on the 7,706-mile route from Delhi.

The last two routes in the highest ten are each flown by United, which faces competition on #10. From San Francisco, United has each day flights to Tel Aviv, deploying its Boeing 777-300ERs on the 7,421-mile route. The tenth-longest route from San Francisco is to Sydney, flown by United and Qantas. Qantas deploys its Boeing 787-9s while United deploys its largest passenger aircraft, the 777-300ER.
