SIA and Garuda Indonesia
Each South Asian carriers first began codesharing on flights between Singapore and Denpasar greater than a decade ago in 2010. A couple of years later in 2014, the initial agreement was expanded to incorporate one other route (Singapore – Surabaya), and flights operated by former SIA subsidiary SilkAir were also added. One other route, Singapore – Jakarta, was added to the partnership in 2019.
A serious development got here in 2021 when each carriers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) further expanding ties. The MoU allowed closer alignment of frequent flier programs and potentially finding recent opportunities in air freight movement as well.
