Though summer is greater than half a 12 months ahead, American Airlines is already mapping out its 2024 summer schedule. American plans so as to add a record variety of seats from Dallas/Fort Price International Airport (DFW).
Expanding domestic schedule
As the biggest airline in Texas, American Airlines surpasses its closest competitor’s hub within the state with 55% more flights and 30% more seats from DFW. With this in mind, the airline is expanding its presence at DFW even further. American is enriching global connectivity by introducing over 10,000 additional connection options through DFW, with plans to exceed 850 departures from the airport.

On the domestic front, the airline is introducing recent services that connect DFW with Redmond, Oregon (RDM), Albany, Recent York (ALB), and resuming service to St. George, Utah (SGU). The airline may even add more frequencies to its existing 18 domestic destinations, including:
- Abilene, Texas (ABI) – increase to 5 every day departures
- Baton Rouge, Louisiana (BTR) – Increase to 6 every day departures
- Boise, Idaho (BOI) – increase to 3 every day departures
- Chattanooga, Tennessee (CHA) – increase to 4 every day departures
- College Station, Texas (CLL) – increase to 4 every day departures
- Dayton, Ohio (DAY) – increase to 4 every day departures
- Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, Florida (VPS) – increase to 5 every day departures
- Greensboro, North Carolina (GSO) – increase to 3 every day departures
- Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina (GSP) – increase to 3 every day departures
- Kalispell, Montana (FCA) – increase to 2 every day departures
- Key West, Florida (EYW) – increase to 2 every day departures
- Knoxville, Tennessee (TYS) – increase to 4 every day departures
- Lafayette, Louisiana (LFT) – increase to 5 every day departures
- Montgomery, Alabama (MGM) – increase to 3 every day departures
- Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina (RDU) – increase to 6 every day departures
- Roswell, Recent Mexico (ROW) – increase to 3 every day departures
- San Francisco (SFO) – increase to 10 every day departures
- Seattle (SEA) – increase to nine every day departures
As well as, passengers traveling between DFW and Santa Rosa (STS) will experience an aircraft change from the Embraer E175 to the larger Airbus A319. Meanwhile, passengers traveling from DFW to Traverse City (TVC) will see a shift from the typically deployed Airbus A320 to the Airbus A321.

The airline was connecting these destinations as much as once every day next 12 months.
Recent international service
Internationally, the airline is gearing up to offer direct flights to 55 destinations from DFW next summer. Notably, recent services are set to be introduced, including flights to Barcelona, Spain (BCN) ranging from June 2024, and two every day services to Tulum, Mexico (TQO) commencing in March 2024.

Along with recent international services, the airline will increase its flight frequencies to Guatemala City, Guatemala (GUA), Los Cabos, Mexico (SJD), Queretaro, Mexico (QRO), and San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO). Commenting on the subsequent summer’s schedule, Jim Moses, American’s Senior Vice President of DFW Hub Operations, said:
“Following our team’s strong operational performance this 12 months and the airline’s continued investments in its largest hub, we’re prepared and excited to operate this robust schedule.”
It’s price noting that DFW has develop into the only Texas airline hub with premium cabins on every flight, offering customers the alternative of a minimum of two classes of service since May 2023.
