The nonstop service is about to attach San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Barcelona-El Prat International Airport (BCN). The flight is planned to start on May 23, 2024. This recent service is an element of the airline’s plans to supply 30% more seats to Spain this upcoming summer.
Recent service to Spain
The brand new route planned by United Airlines is about to be the fourth service to Barcelona. It is going to be the primary time that United will offer this nonstop service, although the Chicago, Illinois-based airline operates to Barcelona from several other markets, including Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), and Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Washington DC. United Airlines also operates to all five major airports inside Spain, including Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), Malaga Airport (AGP), Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), and Tenerife South Airport (TFS) on top of its Barcelona routes.

These destinations include a day by day service to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) within the Netherlands, Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (CDG) in France, Leonardo da Vinci – Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in Italy, Munich International Airport (MUC) in Spain, and Zurich Airport (ZRH) in Switzerland. United Airlines also plans to operate the 777 on a twice-daily service to Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) in Germany. These services will account for nearly 200,000 seats connecting SFO to European destinations through May 2024.
