The Qantas Group has revealed plenty of senior leadership changes inside its Group Management Committee (GMC), which have come about consequently of internal promotions, retirements, and structural change. The brand new structure will bring the variety of roles throughout the GMC to 13, and can increase the group’s give attention to areas similar to customer experience and human resources.
The GMC will begin its transition to the brand new structure next month, with all changes fully effective by November 2023. The brand new roles will report back to Vanessa Hudson, who will take over as CEO when Alan Joyce resigns, also in November. Hudson went on to focus on the continuity that the structural changes will bring to the group, saying,
“We now have a deep bench of experience at Qantas, which suggests we’re in a position to recruit internally for a lot of senior executive roles after they come up, and that makes the transition lots smoother. The structural changes announced today are about increasing our give attention to a couple of key areas as we move from recovery to growth, especially with regards to things that matter most to our people and our customers. Latest appointments
Chief Financial Officer – the previous role of Vanessa Hudson will likely be filled by Rob Marcolina when she takes the reins as CEO later this 12 months.
Chief Customer and Digital Officer – Catriona Larritt, former Chief Executive Officer at Hetstar, will tackle this position. The role may also include responsibility for digital, which can play a vital part in improving the client experience.

Creation of recent roles
The structural changes within the GMC have led to the creation of two latest senior leadership roles – Chief People Officer and Chief Risk Officer.

The previous Chief Operating Officer at Qantas and QantasLink, Andrew Monaghan, has already been confirmed because the group’s Chief Risk Officer. This latest role will make sure the group advantages from the best level of oversight and governance with regards to risk management.
