Pierce Aerospace and DRONERESPONDERS Announce Public Safety Distant ID Working Group
The ultimate date for implementation of the Distant ID rule is rapidly approaching. As of September, all pilots might be liable for complying with the law. Recreational flyers may either equip their aircraft with a Distant ID compliant transmitter, or fly in FAA-designated areas. All industrial pilots – including public safety professionals – must make sure that their aircraft meets Distant ID requirements.
Public safety is on the front line of Distant ID. The group will include DRONERESPONDERS members from a wide range of organizational backgrounds, and is designed to capture end-user feedback related to Distant ID solutions and use cases. This Working Group will comprise of 12-15 DRONERESPONDERS organizational members, with one representative from the chosen organizational member and their alternate. DRONERESPONDERS will select the organizational members to take part in the working group. Each Pierce Aerospace and DRONERESPONDERS agree that this group might be composed of a various group of first responder organizations and can meet a minimum of once a month. This volunteer working group accelerates industry innovation and enhances the general public safety UAS mission.
