An unusual incident recently forced an ATR aircraft operating for India’s regional carrier Alliance Air to show back shortly after takeoff. The plane reportedly took off with an open fuel tank panel. Thankfully, it made a successful landing with no reported harm to the passengers. Authorities are looking into the incident to search out out what exactly happened.

On June twentieth, an Alliance Air ATR 72-600 was preparing to perform flight 9I 882 between Mysore and Hyderabad in South India. Flightradar24.com lists the flight’s scheduled departure that day to be 14:55. The aircraft, nevertheless, took off about an hour and a half late at 16:30.
However the flight was soon asked to return after a ground crew member observed that the plane took off with an open fuel panel. It’s unclear whether the panel popped open during takeoff or the aircraft departed with the panel in that position. News agency ANI quotes a DGCA official as saying,
