Freighter operator Magma Aviation has added its first regular scheduled flights to China.
The Chapman Freeborn subsidiary’s China operations address growing demand and broaden its access to customers within the Asia Pacific region, the airline said.
Happening three to 4 times per week on a Boeing 747-400 freighter, the routing is a return journey between Liège Airport in Belgium and Nanchang Changbei International Airport in China.
Paul Hoatson, head of network planning & alliances at Magma Aviation, commented: “By opening China, Magma Aviation now operates 29 dedicated flights per week on behalf of our customers across the US, Africa, Asia and Europe.”
Magma Aviation plans so as to add additional capability within the Asia Pacific region throughout 2023 to further support customer requirements.
Conor Brannigan, chief executive at Magma Aviation, added: “Scheduled flights to and from China are a crucial milestone for Magma Aviation; an accomplishment that may not have been possible without the exertions and dedication of our great team, and our parent company, Chapman Freeborn.
“We also hugely appreciate the continued support of our partners and clients. We proceed to look to extend our presence on this vital and dynamic air cargo market.”
Magma Aviation markets dedicated widebody cargo aircraft capability, contracted on an exclusive basis from third-party airlines.
It currently manages a fleet of 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) aircraft and offers ad hoc and regular flying capability to freight forwarders, logistics providers and charter brokers.
