From July 29 to September 5, 2024, Iberia will operate flights from Madrid to Ljubljana, offering two weekly frequencies on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The airline’s customers can already purchase tickets to go to the Slovenian capital on iberia.com. The airline will offer 7,000 seats from Madrid this summer on this route, operated with the corporate’s Airbus A320neo fleet.
Iberia will operate exclusively on this route. No other company currently flies the Madrid-Ljubljana city pair.
Ljubljana Airport (LJU) is ready to have 141 weekly flights in July 2024, in line with data from Cirium. The airport’s major route is ready to be Lufthansa’s service from Frankfurt, with 21 weekly flights, followed by Turkish Airlines from Istanbul, Lufthansa from Munich, and Air Serbia from Belgrade, with 14 weekly flights each.

Albania – a brand new destination
Competing against Wizz Air, which currently operates two flights every week from Madrid to Tirana (TIA), Iberia is ready to enter this market in Albania.
From next April, Iberia will add one other latest destination to its network: Tirana. On 28 March, the airline will begin to operate three weekly flights from Madrid to Tirana’s Nënë Tereza International Airport.
