Lithuanian aircraft lessor and charter carrier GetJet Airlines is expanding its fleet in time to fulfill increasing summer demand. The airline is adding three Airbus A320-200 aircraft, that are expected to be utilized in a wet lease capability for carriers, including Air Malta and Icelandair.
The three recent aircraft follow the corporate’s acquisition of one other three Boeing 737-800s from World Star Aviation last 12 months, which now operate on behalf of tour operators and airlines, primarily within the Baltics and Canada.
Where are the planes coming from?
The brand new planes feature a single economy class cabin that accommodates 180 seats and has already begun operations for the airline. All three have been reregistered in Lithuanian registrations and have begun operations for the carrier.
The primary aircraft, LY-WIZ, comes from World Star Aviation and has spent its entire energetic service operating for Wizz Air. The aircraft took its first flight under the brand new registration today (June seventh) on a visit from the airline’s hub Vilnius International Airport to Rhodes in Greece.

One other of the Airbus A320s began its business life in Italy. LY-WIL was previously operated for Volare Airlines and AirOne, which later merged (with the aircraft) into the Alitalia family. Most recently, the aircraft flew for IndiGo, which obtained the aircraft in 2018.
The ultimate recent aircraft, LY-MAL, took its first flight in 2007. The aircraft has been operating for Air Malta ever since and was most recently spotted flying from Shannon Airport in Ireland to Madrid Adolfo Suárez Barajas. Rūta Kulvinskaitė, CEO of GetJet Airlines, expressed their excitement for the brand new aircraft to affix the fleet:

GetJet Airlines already has carriers lined as much as utilize the brand new aircraft. The airline began the season by signing recent ad-hoc ACMI agreements with Marabu, TUI Deutschland GmbH, and Air Malta. The newest partnership follows a deal established with Icelandair for flight operations this summer from Keflavik Airport.
Who’s GoJet Airlines?
Established in 2016 with its headquarters in Vilnius, Lithuania, GoJet Airlines operates a dedicated fleet of 12 fully-serviced and maintained aircraft. Along with the brand new Airbus A320s, the carrier acquired two more Boeing 737-800 aircraft from lessor Aercap in May.
