LATAM Airlines shall be expanding international connectivity inside its route network with plans to reintroduce weekly service between Lima, Peru, and Havana, Cuba. The airline announced the service Tuesday, making the capital of Cuba its fifth destination within the Caribbean.
With LATAM’s large presence in Lima, passengers traveling from Cuba will have the option to connect with a lot of destinations. In turn, the carrier seems confident that Brazilians may even benefit from the route’s return leisure travel.
The primary time in three years
While LATAM awaits government approval to resume the service, the airline confirmed that it’s scheduled to start on October twenty ninth with 4 weekly frequencies. The route has been suspended since March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered air travel worldwide. Aline Mafra, Director of Sales and Marketing at LATAM Brasil, emphasized the airline’s international connectivity with returning service.

The route shall be operated every week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday on an Airbus A319 or A320 aircraft. The Havana-bound flight will depart Lima at 09:15 and is scheduled to reach at 17:25 local time. LATAM’s A319s operating the route are configured to accommodate 138 passengers – 12 seats in premium economy and the remaining 138 in economy. A320s deployed to the route seat a complete of 174 passengers, with 12 premium economy seats and 162 seats within the economy class.
Five destinations within the Caribbean
