Inspired Flight Technologies (IFT) and Gremsy recently announced a partnership pairing the IF800 Tomcat drone with the Gremsy VIO F1 to create a brand new all-in-one package providing excellent Electro-Optical/Infra-red (EO/IR) performance. Focused on law enforcement, security, and utility customers, the brand new package combines IFT’s expertise on drone creation with Gremsy’s advanced gimbal technologies.
The VIO F1 incorporates a 4k zoom sensor, a high-resolution 640×512 radiometric Flir Boson thermal camera, and an integrated laser rangefinder. Connected to the Tomcat by an revolutionary “smart dovetail” mounting system, the combined unit can reach flight times of as much as 40 minutes which will be prolonged via hot-swappable batteries. All of the footage is then streamed wirelessly to IFT’s Ground Control software. As well as, the rangefinder provides precise goal data at as much as 2400m and an AI tracking system assists with object framing.
“We’re excited to bring to market the IF800 Tomcat integrated with the VIO F1 payload as our NDAA-compliant EO/IR solution for Public Safety and Energy Utility customers,” says Adam Bilmes, Director of Business Development at Inspired Flight, “The capabilities of the VIO F1 during product testing seriously exceeded our expectations, particularly the AI and zoom functions of the camera, and can unlock latest levels of data-collection capabilities for our customers.”
“Gremsy is worked up to collaborate with Inspired Flight, integrating our advanced VIO F1 payload into the IF800 comprehensive drone system. We imagine this seamlessly integrated solution ensures outstanding user experience while addressing specific customer needs,” says Tu Do, Research & Development Manager at Gremsy.
DroneLife’s showcase of the Tomcat drone was released this summer and highlighted its US manufacturing and intuitive UX.
The combined system will likely be available in Q1 of 2024. More on Inspired Flight is offered here. More on Gremsy is offered here.
