A recent international flight by Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo is within the news for breach of air traffic control protocols. It has been reported that the carrier’s recent flight between Delhi and Baku became airborne without getting clearance from the ATC. Relevant Indian authorities and IndiGo itself is looking into the matter.
Pilots suspended
The actions of two IndiGo pilots are under the microscope after reports emerged that they departed Latest Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) for Baku in Azerbaijan without getting takeoff clearance from the air traffic control.
While additional details concerning the incident are usually not yet known, India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has launched an investigation to learn the way the aircraft took off without getting the vital clearance. The DGCA has also derostered each pilots of the flight until further investigation.

Earlier in January, an indignant traveler walked up the aisle and physically assaulted an IndiGo pilot, who was addressing the passengers concerning the reason behind the delay, and physically assaulted him. It was a Delhi-Goa flight, which was delayed by greater than six hours.
Not too long after that, frustrated passengers on a Goa-Delhi flight protested by refusing to depart the tarmac at Mumbai Airport when the flight was diverted there as a result of foggy conditions in Delhi. Each IndiGo and Mumbai Airport were fined by the DGCA for the way in which they handled the incident.
