About Ayodhya Airport
Ayodhya’s Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport shall be inaugurated by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30. Built at a price of virtually $42 million, its 6,500-square-meter terminal constructing can accommodate 300 passengers during peak hours and handle 600,000 passengers yearly.
What makes this destination particularly attractive for airlines is that Ayodhya has significant religious importance to the Hindu community. A grand temple dedicated to the Hindu Lord Ram shall be inaugurated on January 22, and airlines want to ascertain their presence before that.
Until now, Ayodhya has not had scheduled air connectivity with other parts of India. Airlines shall be hoping to draw passengers who’re expected to travel to the town in huge numbers after the temple is inaugurated.
