The Spanish carrier Iberia Express will launch a brand new route connecting Madrid Barajas International Airport (MAD) to Cairo International Airport (CAI) in Egypt later this 12 months. The carrier will begin operating this latest service on October 30 with three weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Latest path to Cairo
Employing an Airbus A321neo aircraft with a capability for 232 passengers in a single class cabin, Iberia Express will begin servicing Cairo in October. This shall be the corporate’s only path to Africa by October (it currently flies mostly to European destinations, aside from Tel Aviv, Israel, where it operates two day by day flights).

Tickets to the Egyptian capital can be found for purchase on the airline’s website. The costs start from €109 per one-way trip, and there are further discounts for members of Club Express, the airline’s free travelers’ club.
The departure times for these direct flights are from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport at 16:35, with a duration of 4 hours and 50 minutes, while the return from Cairo International Airport shall be at 23:25, with an approximate duration of 5 hours and fifteen minutes.

This destination is a component of the corporate’s winter program, which can start on the last weekend of October and can feature a complete of twenty-two destinations, of which 11 are international. Talking in regards to the latest route, Isabel Rodríguez, Industrial Director of Iberia Express, said,
In response to data from Cirium, in November, Iberia Express will fly 127 international services to 11 destinations, not including Cairo, which has not yet been uploaded to the server. It’s unclear which routes could possibly be axed since Iberia Express stated it should only serve 11 international cities throughout the coming winter season. These destinations are Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Copenhagen, Dublin, Reykjavik, London Gatwick, Lyon, Manchester, Napoli, and Tel Aviv.

The essential line, Iberia, has partnered with Sama Tour since January 2022, allowing for a weekly frequency of charter flights between Madrid and the enduring Egyptian cities of Cairo and Luxor.
Iberia Express’ fleet
The Spanish branch of Iberia (and the International Airlines Group) currently has a fleet of 26 aircraft, with one additional Airbus A321neo coming in the longer term. It operates 14 Airbus A320ceos, 4 A321neos, and eight A321neos.
Cirium states the airline currently serves 11 domestic destinations with 284 weekly flights. An important domestic routes go from Madrid to Palma de Mallorca (48 weekly flights), Gran Canaria (47), and Tenerife (39).
Internationally, it currently operates 139 weekly flights to 14 destinations. The three additional destinations (versus what is predicted in November) are Bari, Edinburgh, and Irakleion, each with two weekly flights.
