Honolulu-based Hawaiian Airlines will soon offer recent inflight amenity kits and soft goods to passengers on select long-haul flights. The kits are inspired by the carrier’s newest premium cabin that shall be featured on its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner next 12 months.
The kits with unique designs shall be created with recycled materials. The announcement comes as Hawaiian also plans to debut a retail collection of home goods next month.
A way of comfort
The carrier partnered with Hawaii-based lifestyle brand Noho Home by Jalene Kanani Bell to develop the brand new inflight amenity kits and soft goods. The airline unveiled the look of the kits on Monday, saying they’re focused on In accordance with Hawaiian, “Noho” means within the Hawaiian language. The brand new kits, that are designed after the Leihōkū Suites on the 787-9, represent three motifs (Kilo Hōkū, Lele, and ʻŌlali) and are expected to bring a way of place and luxury to passengers onboard.

Hawaiian will begin offering the amenities on November sixth to business class passengers on long-haul international flights and routes to Recent York, Boston, and Austin within the US mainland. Made with the airline said passengers shall be given a recycled plastic canvas bag that comprises essential items while an assortment of additional items shall be provided à la carte to reduce waste.

Each business class seat may also have an opulent quilt showcasing the brand new signature Kilo Hōkū and ʻŌlali designs, accompanying a mattress pad and pillow. The bedding also reflects sustainability, made with fabric developed from recycled plastic. The Lele design shall be featured on the amenity kits offered to passengers in Extra Comfort and Predominant Cabin seats.
“A connection to home”
Hawaiian’s Senior Director of Brand and Community and Cultural Relations, Alisa Onishi, spoke concerning the recent amenities on Monday.
“Our collaboration with Noho Home was born out of the shared desire to create a way of place and establish a connection to home while we bring our guests to their destination. We’re very happy with the creativity behind these designs and might’t wait for our guests to receive them.”
The designs reportedly come from kilo, a native Hawaiian practice. Kilo Hōkū is inspired by time-lapse photography of the night sky, and ʻŌlali means to like a bird within the air or dolphin within the sea, in accordance with the airline. Lele is translated to mean celebrating flight and adventure.
Established in 2018, Noho Home goals to reimagine Hawaiian decor. Founder Jalene Kanani Bell focuses on modern Hawaiian aesthetics incorporating art and performance.

Moreover, Hawaiian indicated that it might extend its partnership with Noho Home, offering a retail collection of home goods. Its collaboration, Hawaiian Airlines X Noho Home Leihōkū Collection, may also launch on November sixth and shall be available for purchase inflight or directly through Noho Home, in accordance with the carrier.
