Global Airlines is ready to accumulate an additional three Airbus A380s, bringing the variety of superjumbos in its fleet to 4. The startup carrier will now work to get the aircraft fitted out and returned to service, ready for the launch of its transatlantic operations in spring 2024.
The quantity paid by Global Airlines for the aircraft has not been disclosed, although in response to an announcement from the airline,

The CEO of Global Airlines, James Asquith, celebrated the news, saying,
“We’re also delighted to announce that we’ve got agreed the acquisition of an additional three A380s to hitch the Global fleet. As I’ve at all times said, the A380 is the perfect aircraft within the sky, and we are going to proceed to search for further acquisition opportunities.”
Bucking the trend
Global Airlines made headlines last month when it revealed that it had purchased its first Airbus A380, making it the primary latest airline to tackle the superjumbo in eight years. The carrier plans to deploy the aircraft on routes between London and the US, hoping to utilize the superjumbo’s spacious cabins to redefine the flying experience.

If it gets off the bottom, Global Airlines’ operation will buck the recent trend of flying across the Atlantic with narrowbody aircraft. Aer Lingus and TAP Air Portugal are among the many carriers recurrently flying the Airbus A321neo on Transatlantic services.
Recent board members
Along with acquiring the extra Airbus A380s, Global Airlines today announced two further appointments to its advisory board – Pierre Madrange and Ian Black. Each join the airline with a wealth of aviation experience.
Madrange began his flying profession as a fighter pilot within the French Air Force, before occurring to occupy a spread of posts, including Chief Operating Officer at XL Airways and Managing Director at SR Technics. Black also comes from a military background, although more recently has been flying industrial aircraft, racking up over 20,000 flying hours on long-haul widebodies reminiscent of the Airbus A330 and Boeing 787.

Together, the 2 latest board members will advise the airline’s leadership team on a wide range of aviation, technical, and industrial issues. Asquith went on to say,
“We extend our warmest welcome to each Ian and Pierre to the Global Airlines’ advisory board, where they may work closely with our team. It’s an actual testament to the progress we’re making that we proceed to appoint senior and experienced people to our advisory board. I consider we will need to have one of the crucial experienced teams of aviation professionals coming together to launch Global Airlines.”
