With the launch of the brand new route, Frontier now serves three international destinations from the ‘City of Brotherly Love.’ The airline flies each day to Cancun, certainly one of Mexico’s hottest tourist destinations, and Punta Cana, a very fashionable city within the Dominican Republic. Though Frontier’s international offering is small in Philly, locals can trade the cold winter for warmth, sunshine, and beaches on 112 flights this month.
Other international flights from Philly
Philadelphia International Airport is a busy airport, and in 2022, it welcomed greater than 25 million passengers. A vital hub for American Airlines, Philadelphia has greater than 1,500 international flights just with the Fort-Value-based carrier. In keeping with Cirium, 2,202 roundtrip flights are scheduled to and from Philadelphia this month on seven different carriers: American Airlines, Air Canada, Spirit Airlines, Frontier Airlines, British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Discover Airlines.
American Airlines has the biggest international market share by far, with 1,572 flights, or 71.39% of the overall offering. Greater than 260,000 international seats can be found on American to destinations like Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Cancun, and a number of other others. To Cancun alone, American has up to 3 each day roundtrips available, competing with Frontier and Spirit on the route.

Air Canada has the second-largest international market share and has just 244 flights on two routes. The Canadian flag carrier serves Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport once each day and Toronto Pearson International Airport thrice each day. Each routes are served with the Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft, able to carrying 76 passengers, meaning Air Canada’s seat offering at PHL is eighteen,544 for the month.
Spirit has the third-largest market share, with 114 flights, two greater than Frontier. The ultra-low-cost carrier only serves two international destinations from PHL, Cancun and Punta Cana, competing with Frontier on each. The Airbus A320neo, able to carrying 182 passengers, is deployed to Cancun each day, leaving Philadelphia at 09:07, shortly after Frontier’s flight. Flights to Punta Cana are actually each day but were only 4 weekly at first of the month.
British Airways connects London and Philly each day, Aer Lingus connects Dublin each day (aside from a number of days before Christmas), and Discover Airlines (a Lufthansa Group airline) flies from Frankfurt five times weekly.
