On March fifth, 2023, as an illustration, a Turkish Airlines Airbus A330 en route from Istanbul to Barcelona was forced to return to its origin due to nasty odor of some durian fruit carried within the cargo hold. On that occasion, it was not only the smell that led the pilots to make the choice to divert.
