Emirates’ fascinating collection of partnerships
It isn’t all that surprising that Azul, a comparatively young carrier founded 16 years ago with a nontraditional business model, isn’t a part of a significant airline alliance. Emirates, nonetheless, is a globally outstanding legacy carrier, and yet isn’t a part of the Star Alliance, SkyTeam, or OneWorld as one would typically expect, a undeniable fact that at times places the airline at a competitive drawback compared to competitors like Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways.
