Summary
- Emirates had planned a each day A380 flight to Singapore this winter, but there’ll now be two
- It’s going to proceed what it presently has and likewise had last winter
- The carrier’s each day Singapore flights remain down versus the pre-pandemic period
Don’t misunderstand. Emirates already has two each day Airbus A380 flights from Dubai to Singapore. The difference is that until this weekend, it had only scheduled one each day A380 service this Northern Hemisphere winter. Now there shall be two, the identical as last winter. It comes as Hong Kong regains its second each day winter quadjet flight. I even have modified the world’s most-served A380 routes to reflect the winter schedule.
Emirates to Singapore
The approaching Northern Hemisphere aviation winter season begins on October twenty ninth. From that date, Emirates could have two A380 flights to Singapore and one by the Boeing 777-300ER.

Organized by departure time from Dubai, amongst crucial airports for widebody flights, the complete Singapore schedule is as follows, with all times local. The second A380 shall be on EK352/EK353. Not surprisingly, given the more premium nature of Singapore, the two-class, 615-seat config is not going to be used. Note: EK404/EK405 continues to/from Melbourne.

Still down by one each day flight
When all equipment is taken into account within the post-pandemic period, Emirates has had triple each day Singapore flights since November 2022. But analyzing Cirium data shows that they continue to be down by one each day service versus winter 2019, just before coronavirus happened.

From Dubai in winter 2019, Emirates had EK352 (A380; same as this winter), EK354 (A380; same as this winter), and EK404 (777-300ER; same as this winter). It also had EK432 (777-300ER), which continued to/from Brisbane. It left the UAE at 21:15 and arrived in Changi at 08:25 the subsequent day before continuing to Australia.
Returning, EK433 departed from Singapore at 09:35 and arrived back at 13:05. The schedule rejig implies that EK404/EK405 now operates the time periods of EK432/EK433.

Where do Singapore passengers go?
Examining booking data for June 2023 suggests that Emirates carried around 66,000 roundtrip Singapore passengers that month, or about 2,200 each day. About 70% of passengers transited to other flights over Dubai. The map below shows the ten hottest markets.

So as of passengers, London Heathrow was primary, then London Gatwick, Tel Aviv (a destination introduced by Emirates in June 2022), Moscow Domodedovo, Manchester, Paris CDG, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Athens.
Seeing Moscow and Manchester next to 1 one other is amusing (at the least to me) because the world’s longest one-stop trip, Singapore Airlines between Changi and Houston, initially routed via Moscow before switching to Manchester.
