Air Marshals first began flying on aircraft back in 1961, resulting from an amendment to the Federal Aviation Act that was made by President John F. Kennedy. This system has since undergone different changes and has expanded across international flights to the US. Currently, US marshals are known for his or her roles in discreetly providing passengers with comfort and security by stopping potentially harmful incidents while within the air.
Besides providing passenger security, marshals are also accountable for collaborating with law enforcement agencies to discover threats, assessing flight environments for potential threats, and resolving emergencies during flights. US marshals also provide testimony in court proceedings and execute arrest warrants.
