Phil Washington, CEO of Denver International Airport, said,
“We welcome Viva Aerobus as a brand new partner. The addition of Monterrey to our destinations aligns with our Vision 100 plan and meets our goal of expanding our international connections. These flights specifically will provide more accessible options for those within the Mile-High City and Colorado.”
Viva Aerobus proudly boasts the youngest fleet of any Mexican airline, with 82 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft with a median age of 5.2 years. In response to data from ch-aviation, Viva operates 4 variants of Airbus A320 family aircraft, A320/321ceo and A320/A321neo. The airline already has 26 A312neos and has one other 20 to be delivered.
Through its expansion, Viva hopes to show Monterrey into a powerful regional hub. In 2024 alone, the airline is adding flights to Recent York, San Francisco, Austin, Miami, and Orlando. Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, Tourism Secretary for Nuevo Leon, said Viva is following through on the commitment it made in 2023. The expansion will not be just an initiative from the airline but somewhat a partnership with the local government to show MTY right into a regional hub.
Villareal added,
“With two weekly flights, the brand new route not only offers latest travel opportunity, but encourages the expansion of aviation within the region. We invite everyone to go to Nuevo León, for business or cultural awareness, we’re able to welcome you with open arms.”
