Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) has seen significant expansion to its Transatlantic offering today, due to two major US carriers. Each Delta Air Lines and United Airlines commenced flights to their respective hubs in Latest York and Washington DC.
Delta Air Lines now offers non-stop service from Latest York (JFK) to Berlin Brandenburg for the primary time, as prior to the pandemic, the carrier flew to the now-defunct Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL). Flights are operated every day by the Boeing 767-300ER, as per the next schedule:

The carrier will face competition between Latest York and Berlin from Norse Atlantic Airways, which operates the route with its Boeing 787s.

United Airlines – Berlin to Washington
Not wanting to miss out on the motion, United Airlines also selected today to launch its summer seasonal service from Berlin Brandenburg to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). This route can also be operated by the Boeing 767, however the stretched -400ER variant.
The aircraft currently carries as much as 240 passengers – 39 in business class and 201 in economy class – but from August 1st, the route will probably be operated by certainly one of United Airlines’ retrofitted 767-400ERs, featuring the carrier’s premium economy cabin. Flights will operate day by day until the tip of the summer season on October twenty eighth, with the next schedule:

United Airlines is the one carrier to serve the route between Berlin and Washington, DC, although the carrier also flies year-round to Berlin from its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

The news was well-received by Berlin Brandenburg Airport, with its CEO, Aletta von Massenbach, sharing her delight at the brand new route by saying,

The BER-Washington connection helps to further strengthen cooperation and tourism between Germany and the USA, and strengthens the attractiveness of the Berlin-Brandenburg region as a business location.”
Biggest-ever Transatlantic route network
Along with its sizeable operations on the Star Alliance hubs of Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUC), United Airlines now operates more flights between Germany and the US than another airline and greater than at any point within the carrier’s history, with as much as 18 day by day departures throughout the summer. The opposite US airports with non-stop flights to Germany courtesy of United Airlines are Chicago (ORD), Houston (IAH), Denver (DEN), and San Francisco (SFO).

United Airlines can also be the most important carrier between the US and Europe as an entire this summer, with almost 100 day by day departures. The airline is the one US carrier to fly to Ponta Delgada (PDL), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), and Tenerife South (TFS). Along with recent routes, United Airlines has increased frequencies and capability to several key destinations, including Barcelona (BCN), Edinburgh (EDI), and Rome (FCO).
