Summary
- Delta is about to launch nonstop flights between Seattle and Dallas next summer.
- The airline will offer twice-daily flights in each directions, providing over 60,000 seats on the route during Fall 2024.
- The flights can be exclusively operated with the Airbus A220-300, which offers amenities like WiFi, power outlets, and private video screens for inflight entertainment.
Delta Air Lines will turn out to be the third carrier to supply service between Seattle and Dallas next summer. The Atlanta-based airline will go face to face with American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, each of which have dominated the route for several years.
The service can be the primary time Delta has flown nonstop between the 2 cities in over twenty years. It comes because the airline has been focused on expanding within the Emerald City, with plans to supply flights to over 50 destinations in 2024.
Twice each day each way
Delta announced the service in September as a part of its latest lineup of recent and returning flights to the US West Coast next summer. On July 8, 2024, the carrier will launch its Seattle-Dallas service with two each day flights in each directions. From Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), the flights are expected to last slightly below 4 hours. DL413 is scheduled to depart SEA at 07:40 PST and can arrive at Dallas/Fort Value International Airport (DFW) at 13:30 CST. The second flight, DL424, is scheduled for a 17:55 departure from SEA and an arrival time at DFW of 23:45.

The SEA-bound flights have a scheduled duration of just over 4 hours, with DL430 departing from DFW at 06:30 and arriving at SEA at 08:50. DL413, the second flight, is scheduled to go away DFW at 14:30 and land at SEA at 16:50. In keeping with aviation data provider Cirium, Delta last operated the SEA-DFW route in November 2004, meaning once the service returns, the carrier will mark a hiatus of over 20 years on the route.
Over 60,000 seats offered next Fall
The flights can be exclusively operated by the Airbus A220-300 a minimum of through October 2024, in line with Cirium data. Delta has configured the aircraft to accommodate 130 passengers with 12 top notch seats, 30 Delta Comfort+ seats, and 88 seats within the predominant cabin. In July, the airline will operate 96 flights in each direction, totaling 24,960 seats offered on the route. August and October will see much more scheduled seats, with 124 flights each way, leading to 32,240 total seats. 120 flights can be operated in each directions in September, accounting for a complete of 31,200 seats offered in the course of the month, in line with Cirium.

Several amenities are featured on the A220 to maintain passengers occupied during their journey, including WiFi and, USB and AC power outlets. Moreover, each seat is supplied with personal video screens and satellite TV for inflight entertainment. The amenity differs from American and Alaska’s aircraft, where travelers should stream entertainment to their personal devices.
Steep competition
American and Alaska have shared the variety of passengers carried on the route for years. On Monday, 14 flights were scheduled from SEA to DFW across each of the oneworld Alliance airlines, in line with FlightAware. American operated more flights, with eight scheduled on the Airbus A321 or A321neo, while Alaska had six flights on Boeing 737s. The route complements each carriers with their greater than 10-year-long codeshare agreement and with their major hubs at SEA and DFW.
While Delta faces steep competition, the airline has quite the presence in Alaska’s Seattle home, also naming the airport certainly one of its hubs. Because the two airlines terminated their partnership in 2017, Delta has directly competed with Alaska and has continued to grow at SEA. When service to DFW begins, Delta will offer greater than 160 each day departures to 55 cities from SEA. Moreover, the carrier operates more flights to international destinations than every other airline on the airport, which provides travelers from DFW with more options.
