On February 16, Breeze Airways began operation at Stewart International Airport in Recent York State, serving Charleston, South Carolina, and Orlando, Florida, twice weekly. NBC 4 highlights that Recent York Stewart is an airport serving as a substitute for the primary airports within the Recent York and Recent Jersey area, namely JFK, Newark Liberty, and LaGuardia Airport.
In line with the airline’s website, recent routes can be priced as follows.
- Orlando, FL – Thursdays and Sundays from $59 one-way
- Charleston, SC – Fridays and Mondays from $49 one-way
The routes can be operated by the airline’s flagship, the A220-300.

A brand new form of airline within the US
It was initially going to be called Moxy, but in 2020, the airline decided to mothball that identity because it clashed with a Marriott-affiliated hotel chain. The airline then went for Breeze Airways, the name they still use today. As one among the US’s latest low-cost airlines, it’s the birthchild of David Neeleman, the founding father of other successful LCCs comparable to JetBlue within the USA, WestJet in Canada, and Azul in Brazil.

The airline has three pricing points: Nice, which incorporates, amongst other perks, a private item and reusable credit for flights canceled by the client. Nicer, with all of the perks of a Nice and further legroom seat, a carry-on bag, drinks and snacks, priority boarding, and Nicest, the airline’s tackle firstclass. These offerings aim to distinguish them from other LCCs and supply what they call a “nice experience.”

Stewart International Airport used to host Norway’s long-haul 737 MAX operations until the pandemic hit; as an underserved airport outside of a significant city, the landing fees are cheaper than the most important hubs that typically serve them. With the brand new addition, the airport serves international destinations comparable to the Faroe Islands, which launched with Faroe in August 2023, and Iceland with PLAY, the all-Airbus low-cost carrier based out of Reykjavik.

There is robust interest within the airport as a secondary destination for the Hudson Bay Area. Many global cities have airports farther from downtown.
