Batik Air will change into the second international carrier serving the Australian capital of Canberra in June; with its latest news, it’ll launch direct services between Denpasar, Bali, and the Canberra International Airport (CBR). Supported by the local government
While Canberra is thought to suffer from minimal international services, Australian Capital Territory Chief Minister Andrew Barr supported the brand new route, stating:
“A direct flight between Bali and Canberra will greatly profit holiday seekers from Canberran and the region. The route also presents a terrific opportunity to attach the Canberra region to South-East Asia for leisure, trade and education. The ACT Government welcomes Canberra Airport’s efforts to make it easier and cheaper to go to Canberra.”

Last 12 months, as reported by Karryon, Canberra Airport Cheif Executive Officer Stephen Byron noted that he expected the airport to see an influx of recent international services to ramp up in 2024, so the Batik Air news could be the start of something special bubbling away in Canberra.
