British Airways’ regional subsidiary, BA CityFlyer, has introduced two seasonal routes from Edinburgh in the UK, in response to a report by Travel Weekly. These recent destinations are set to be included within the airline’s summer schedule for 2024.
Latest destinations in Italy and Spain
Although the winter season has just commenced, the UK’s flag carrier is already strategizing for its upcoming summer season schedule. Ranging from May 25, 2024, BA CityFlyer will offer twice-weekly flights from Edinburgh Airport (EDI) to San Sebastian (EAS) positioned within the Basque Autonomous Community, Spain.
This route will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays until July 30, 2024. In accordance with British Airways, the approximate flying time between these two destinations is 2 and a half hours.

As per the airline’s website, the carrier plans to make use of its Embraer ERJ 190 regional aircraft for this route. Presently, the airline possesses a fleet of 20 ERJ 190s, in response to ch-aviation. These Embraer ERJ 190s operated by BA CityFlyer are configured to accommodate a complete of 98 passengers in a two-class setup.

Meanwhile, San Sebastian can also be a part of BA CityFlyer’s schedule, with this destination served from the first hub at London City Airport (LCY).
Busy period for one more British Airways subsidiary
It seems that the upcoming period is poised to be bustling, not just for BA CityFlyer but in addition for one more subsidiary, BA EuroFlyer. During this winter, the airline’s relatively recent low-cost arm is scheduled to serve a network of 25 destinations from its base at London Gatwick Airport (LGW).
