After nearly three years of serving Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS), ultra-low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines has announced a brand new base starting May 1, 2024. Two Boeing 737NGs will initially be stationed within the California airport, and the airline expects to recruit 50 crew members when the bottom opens. The brand new recruitment will include pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance technicians.
STS and Avelo have a special relationship
While based in Texas, the airline operated its first flight out of STS in 2021.
Sonoma County Airport Manager Jon Stout shared the next in regards to the latest base,
“We’re very excited for the subsequent chapter on this great partnership with Avelo Airlines. We’re looking forward to the brand new connections and operations it will bring to our community and all the advantages of an Avelo base here at STS.”. Avelo began operations in 2021 with its first scheduled flight departing from STS, marking a special relationship between the airline and its latest base.
