SmartKargo announced four AI applications for air cargo operations: AIRCAM, AIRNOC, AIULD and AICTX. The company describes the tools as covering commercial planning, operational oversight, cargo equipment management and system connectivity.
Key details
- AIRCAM forecasts capacity and demand, then recommends dynamic spot rates.
- AIRNOC gives users a network-wide view and identifies exceptions that could lead to delays.
- AIULD tracks and forecasts the location, condition and availability of unit load devices (ULDs), the containers and pallets used to move cargo.
- AICTX connects cargo systems through a standards-based messaging layer.
- SmartKargo says airlines can run the applications with existing cargo management systems, without migrating to a new system. The company says deployment can take weeks.
- The applications are modular, according to SmartKargo, so airlines can start with one use case and add others later.
AIULD tracks and forecasts unit-load-device location, condition and availability.
Why it matters
Cargo teams rely on accurate capacity, shipment and equipment information to coordinate operations across an airline network. SmartKargo says its applications can connect with existing cargo management systems, giving airlines an option to add specific capabilities without replacing those systems.
What happens next
SmartKargo says it plans to expand its AI portfolio and enhance existing services. Which cargo operation would you want to see these tools address next?
