Neros announced on November 2, 2026, that the Pentagon's Office of Strategic Capital had signed a $450 million conditional loan commitment to expand drone and component manufacturing in the United States. Neros is adding $165 million of its own equity, for a $615 million project centered on its Torrance, California, factory.
The Department of War said the loan is meant to build drones and key parts in the United States. OSC director David A. Lorch said Neros had already shown it can design, manufacture, and deliver small unmanned aircraft systems, and that the investment would increase the company's ability to manufacture drones and the components those systems need. OSC said the aim is to cut reliance on foreign-made components and to supply U.S. and allied manufacturers as well as Neros. The company still has to meet financial, legal, technical, and due diligence conditions before funds are released. Neither side published the interest rate, term, or schedule.
Key details
- Site: Torrance factory for complete drones, ground control stations, motors, flight controllers, radios, thermal sensors, and batteries.
- Neros said that by 2028 it will produce drones for long-range strike, close-quarters combat, and interceptors.
Soren Monroe-Anderson, CEO and co-founder of Neros, said the capital puts Neros on the path to one million drones per year by 2028.
