Avolon finalized an agreement to buy 140 Boeing 737-10 aircraft, Boeing said.
Key details
- Avolon’s unfilled 737 MAX orders now exceed 240 aircraft.
- Boeing said lessors have ordered more than 1,450 737 MAX aircraft, about 20% of its backlog.
- Avolon reported a fleet of 1,092 owned, managed, and committed aircraft as of September 30, 2026.
- Avolon said it works with 138 airlines across 62 countries.
- Boeing lists the 737-10’s capacity at up to 230 passengers and its range at 3,100 nautical miles (5,740 kilometers).
Boeing called the deal the largest 737 MAX order placed by a lessor.
Why it matters
Lessors provide aircraft to airlines through leasing arrangements. Boeing’s figures show that lessors account for about one-fifth of its 737 MAX backlog, while Avolon’s reported fleet and airline network span multiple markets.
