With a record variety of passengers expected to take to the skies in the summertime months, Alaska Airlines will surprise one lucky passenger each day with a free upgrade. Between June and September, the carrier will allow one Major Cabin passenger to travel in Premium Class and luxuriate in all of the perks that include the upgrade.
‘upgrade unlocked’
Alaska Airlines is celebrating the beginning of the busy travel season with ‘ wherein one Major Cabin guest can be randomly upgraded to Premium Class day-after-day, all summer long. This can run from June 1 to September 2. Eric Edge, managing director of promoting and promoting at Alaska Airlines, commented,

Day by day, the traveler chosen for the upgrade can be notified through the Alaska Airlines mobile app or by email. If the guest is traveling with a partner, they may even be allowed to sit down within the Premium Cabin.
Alaska Airlines typically reserves these seats for its loyalty program elite members or for purchase. They’re situated behind top notch and offer 4 extra inches of legroom. The custom-designed leather seats also include complimentary beer, wine, or cocktails for guests who’re 21 and above on most flights over 350 miles.

Busy summer season
Alaska Airline’s upgrade surprise scheme comes at a time when summer travel is picking up significantly. Like most other US airlines, Alaska, too, saw an enormous uptick of passengers throughout the Memorial Day weekend, witnessing a rise of 6%. The subsequent few months look quite busy for the airline, and it expects to see much more passengers when bookings increase ahead of the Independence Day holiday weekend.

Expecting an enormous rush throughout the next few months, Alaska has also added flights to its network, anticipating demand to key destinations within the state of Alaska and Western Canada, including Victoria, B.C. Its current schedule throughout the Pacific Northwest may even see more flights, while its seasonal service from Anchorage to destinations similar to Chicago, Denver, Recent York, and Salt Lake City has also been expanded.
