Alaska Airlines has announced three latest international routes flying from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), San Diego International (SAN), and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Guatemala City (GUA) and Ixtapa Zihuatanejo (ZIH).
Launching latest routes
Alaska Airlines’ international offer to Latin America will increase this December with the launch of three latest routes. Starting December 14, the corporate will launch its each day year-round service between Los Angeles and Guatemala City. Between December 23, 2023, and April 6, 2024, it should operate the weekly seasonal services from San Diego and Chicago to Zihuatanejo.

From Alaska Airlines’ hub in Los Angeles, the corporate offers essentially the most flights to essentially the most destinations across Latin America in comparison with some other carrier, including as much as 18 each day nonstop flights to 12 cities throughout the region this winter.
The Los Angeles-Guatemala City service could have each day frequencies and be operated onboard Alaska’s Boeing 737 fleet. The San Diego-Zihuatanejo and Chicago-Zihuatanejo routes will only have one weekly flight and will even be served onboard 737s.

Kirsten Amrine, vp of revenue management and network planning for Alaska Airlines, said the corporate is the fifth largest in america and is expanding to more international destinations. she added.

Meanwhile, Alaska Airlines has been flying to Mexico for 35 years. Kirsten Amrine identified that it’s a favourite destination for lots of the company’s guests.
The brand new service to Guatemala City increases Alaska’s international destinations. The corporate currently offers flights from Los Angeles and Seattle (SEA) to neighboring Belize (BZE), serve the San José (SJO) and Liberia (LIB) airports in Costa Rica, and, starting on December 15, it should also fly from LAX and SEA to Nassau (NAS) within the Bahamas.
Alaska Airlines currently offers 120 weekly flights to Mexico, or between 13 and 30 per week. The corporate flies from LAX to eight destinations (Cancun, Guadalajara, Loreto, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta, San José del Cabo, Zihuatanejo, and Manzanillo). From Portland it flies to Puerto Vallarta and San José del Cabo. It serves Puerto Vallarta and San José del Cabo (and shortly Zihuatanejo) from San Diego. Meanwhile, from Seattle, it flies to a few destinations (Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and San José); from San Francisco, it serves 4 destinations (Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, San José del Cabo, and Zihuatanejo), and from San José, California, it flies to Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, and San José del Cabo.
Alaska Airlines currently has a fleet of 253 aircraft, including 11 Boeing 737-700s, 60 B737-800s, 52 B737 MAX 9s, 12 B737-900s, and 79 B737-900ERs.
