The inaugural was set to happen on February 15, but has been confirmed by the airline as tomorrow.
Following the recent delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX 8, Alaska Airlines appears to have modified its plans to enter the brand new aircraft into business service. Originally set to enter into service on February 15, it appears the inaugural flight will now happen tomorrow, January 23, from Seattle Tacoma International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport as flight AS1220.
As first shared by Brandon Farris on Twitter, the Alaska Airlines website and app show the MAX 8 because the aircraft type set to operate tomorrow afternoon’s flight. Flightradar24, a preferred flight-tracking app and website that is normally very fast at updating the aircraft types for flights, also reflects the change.
