Alaska Airlines is removing six domestic routes from its schedule in June, including its unique service from Paine Field in Washington to Honolulu. Greater than 185,000 seats were faraway from the airline’s schedule.
1 Trimming up the schedule
Seattle-based carrier Alaska Airlines is preparing for an additional busy summer and is adjusting its route network to satisfy demand. Six domestic routes will probably be cut in June, including certainly one of the airline’s recent additions from Portland to Miami, and can affect several hubs. San Jose – Austin
As of last week, Alaska Airlines planned to fly twice each day from San Jose Mineta International Airport to Austin Bergstrom International Airport in Texas. The route would have been operated by regional airlines Horizon Air (an Alaska wholly-owned subsidiary) and SkyWest Airlines on the Embraer E175. The flight connecting the 2 airports is almost 1,500 miles long and over three hours, making it certainly one of the longer E175 flights. Now, Alaska has removed all flights from May to December.
Portland – Miami
In June 2023, Alaska Airlines announced the launch of three coast-to-coast routes, including service from Portland International Airport to Miami International Airport. When announced, Alaska said the route would operate year-round, as, just three months after launch, the airline is now cutting summer flights. The last flight from Portland will operate on May 13 and resume in October.

Everett – Honolulu
Last June, Alaska Airlines announced its first-ever Hawai’i route from Paine Field in Everett, Washington. Service from Paine Field to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport was inaugurated in November and can end in June. Flights were speculated to operate twice each day but will probably be cut to 1 each day operation in May, cut through September and resume in October.
Boise – Pullman
Boise, a necessary city for Alaska but not a hub, will lose nonstop service to Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport from mid-May through August. The short 224-mile route is operated each day on the Embraer E175 by Horizon Air and twice each day on peak days. This summer, from June through August, flights were speculated to occur twice each day but at the moment are cut in June and July, and in August, will operate with one each day frequency.

Los Angeles – Kalispell & Bozeman
Two Montana routes will probably be cut from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). From LAX, Alaska was because of operate one weekly flight to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport from June through August. American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines even have service from LAX to Bozeman, with United the just one to operate year-round.
Flights to Glacier Park International Airport were also scheduled to operate twice each day this summer but have now been cut from June to August. Allegiant Air and United also offer flights to Kalispell, but only in the course of the summer, posing no competition to Alaska Airlines.
