A brand new airline is planning to establish shop in India and in a region not previously explored by carriers as their business hubs. Jettwings Airways goals to be India’s first airline from the country’s northeast region, offering people more traveling options in addition to premium services. So what lies ahead for this startup airline? Let’s discover!
NOC received
On June 14th, India’s latest startup airline Jettwings Airways announced the primary significant step in its journey to this point – receiving the no-objection certificate (NOC) from the federal government to operate scheduled commuter air transport services.
The airline plans to supply regional connectivity to passengers under the UDAN scheme to several destinations within the northeast and eastern regions of India initially. Dr. Sanjive Narain, Chairman, Jettwings Airways, commented,

Narain has said that the airline has received initial funding of ₹1 billion ($12.1 million) and goals to convert its understanding of the northeast market to its advantage. A report by Mint states that Jettwings will start the primary phase of its business with five E175 aircraft.
There are still a number of more steps left, equivalent to getting other regulatory approvals and an air operators certificate (AOC) from India’s aviation regulator, the DGCA. After that, the airline will start its business from its base in Guwahati, the capital of the state of Assam.
Premium offerings
Jettwings Airways might be the primary ever company from the northeast region to operate airline operations in India. It’s entering a highly competitive aviation market, but the corporate is confident that it may well carve out a distinct segment for itself by offering a novel and revolutionary travel experience.

One in all them might be to offer premium economy services as a way of giving options to travelers seeking to travel to or from the Northeast. The airline also plans to supply a loyalty program to reward frequent flyers eventually.
Jettwings Airways has also hired a team of talented and seasoned aviation professionals and goals to change into a reliable and sustainable airline with its roots deeply entrenched in Northeast India.
Connectivity in Northeast India
The northeast region of India has been in focus for some time now so far as connectivity is worried. India’s regional flying scheme UDAN, which subsidizes airline operations to underserved regions within the country has been pushing for more flights within the Northeast.
After air travel was liberalized in India, aviation authorities got here up with Route Dispersal Guidelines (RDG) to offer connectivity between the less accessible parts of India with major cities.
Airlines should assign a certain quota of their flights to regions equivalent to the Northeast, failing which they’re subjected to fines. Hopefully, a brand new airline based within the region will establish a more robust flying culture there.
