The Japanese startup AirJapan, a brand new brand for medium-haul international routes under ANA HOLDINGS INC., will enter service on February 9, 2024. AirJapan will begin its operations with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner fleet serving the route between Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
A brand new airline is coming up
Japan is ready to have a brand new airline next 12 months. AirJapan will enter service with the launch of the Tokyo Narita-Bangkok route on February 9, 2024. These flights will depart from Narita Airport’s Terminal 1, offering convenient connections to flights operated by ANA Group carriers.

The brand new service Narita-Bangkok could have the flight number NQ001 and NQ002. It can be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, departing from Narita at 17:55 and reaching Bangkok at 23:15 local time. The return service will depart from Bangkok at 00:15 the next day, landing in Japan at 08:10, local time.
Fares, service, and aircraft
AirJapan is ready to operate with a fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. Based on ANA, the startup is an “entirely recent brand for medium-haul international routes.”
The cabin will probably be configured with 324 economy class seats fabricated from premium Japanese faux leather. They are going to have a seat pitch of 32 inches (about 81 centimeters) and recline feature. The seats can even have smartphones, tablet users, Type-A and Type-C ports, and tablet holders. Acumen Design Associates, a British design company, designed the cabin interior and seats.
AirJapan will cater to the various needs of leisure and business travelers by offering a wide selection of services and fare options and aim to support the Japanese government’s goal of attracting 60 million foreign visitors to Japan by 2030. It has three fare types: easy, standard, and chosen.
The Easy fare has prices for one-way ranging from 15,500 JPY (about $109) and doesn’t include any optional service. The Standard fare starts from 19,200 JPY ($135). It accommodates advanced seat selection and checked baggage. Finally, the Chosen fare starts from 23,800 JPY ($167), including seat selection, checked baggage, and in-flight meals.
AirJapan will offer a pre-purchase menu with 13 varieties of meals available and an in-flight purchase menu. Other services onboard the brand new airline include WiFi, which will probably be freed from charge and permit the passengers to stream. As well as, select amenities reminiscent of blankets and original goods will probably be available for purchase onboard.
When passengers board an AirJapan flight, they are going to hear music titled “Ai,” with the standard Japanese sounds of shakuhachi and koto created in collaboration with the Tokyo University of the Arts.
