Air India so as to add over 400 weekly flights to its network
Air India has announced that its network will gain over 400 weekly flights over the subsequent few months for the winter schedule. The airline is just about splitting the brand new additions equally between domestic and international flights, adding over 200 flights in each segment.

Of the 200 domestic flights, it’ll proceed to feature premium routes heavily, which include destinations resembling Delhi and Mumbai. The airline has stepped away from many routes that didn’t demand premium cabins and has left those for its low-cost subsidiary, Air India Express, to cover. In recent times, Air India has pulled out of cities resembling Surat and focused more on trunk routes like Delhi-Mumbai, Mumbai-Bengaluru, etc.
International network recovery
On the international side, greater than 80 of the over 200 planned additions are already added to Air India’s network. For the winter schedule, the carrier has added a complete of 25 weekly flights (each way) on eight international routes across points in Southeast Asia, america, and Europe.
These include weekly frequencies on Mumbai-Singapore increasing from 7 to 13, Delhi-Bangkok from 7 to 14, Delhi-Dhaka from 7 to 12, Delhi-Newark (Latest Jersey) from 3 to 4, Delhi-San Francisco from 10 to 11, Delhi-Washington D.C. from 3 to 4, Delhi-Copenhagen from 3 to 4, Delhi-Milan from 4 to five, and Mumbai-Doha from 7 to 9.

The airline has also added flights on 4 recent routes – Bengaluru-Singapore, Kochi-Doha, Kolkata-Bangkok, and Mumbai-Melbourne. Air India CEO Campbell Wilson commented,
On the back of fleet expansion
After all, an expansion like this is feasible only because Air India has steadily increased its fleet capability over the past one 12 months. The airline recently welcomed its first Airbus A320neo after its privatization – this was along with the 4 A321neos which have already joined its fleet this 12 months.

The airline has also added several Boeing 777 planes on lease that has enabled it to expand services to North America. Fleet expansion will proceed, with your complete Air India Group carriers adding one aircraft every six days until the top of 2024. Air India alone would induct over 30 widebody and narrowbody aircraft to its fleet by March 2024, including six Airbus A350s, 4 Boeing 777s, and 20 A320neos.
