Two more foreign airlines have announced flights to Mexico’s newest airport, Tulum International Airport (TQO), situated within the Yucatan peninsula, near top leisure destinations across the country’s Caribbean coastline, and serving as a brand new choice to Cancun International (CUN). JetBlue and Air Canada have each announced recent flights to this destination starting next 12 months.
JetBlue pronounces a brand new flight
Starting on June 13, 2024, JetBlue will begin flying to Tulum, its fourth destination in Mexico. JetBlue’s flights to Tulum are already on sale. It is going to operate every day nonstop service from Latest York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
David Jehn, vice chairman of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue, said with the brand new international airport in Tulum,
Flight 2879 will depart from JFK at 7:55, landing in Tulum at 11:15. The return service, flight 2880, will depart at 12:45, landing in Latest York at 17:55. JetBlue will operate the Tulum route using its Airbus A320 aircraft.

The US carrier flies to Cancun from Latest York, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Los Angeles, Tampa, Newark, and Raleigh. Moreover, JetBlue has expanded its flights to Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos from Latest York’s JFK Airport and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Air Canada’s newest routes
The Canadian carrier is the primary to supply service from the Great White North to Mexico’s newest airport. Starting in the summertime of 2024, Air Canada will fly from Toronto (YYZ) and Montreal (YUL) international airports.
The Toronto-Tulum route will begin on May 3, with two weekly operations on Fridays and Sundays. Air Canada’s flight AC1854 will depart from Toronto at 08:15, landing in Tulum at 11:20. The return service, AC1855, will depart from Tulum at 12:30, landing in Toronto at 17:35.
Meanwhile, the Montreal-Tulum route will begin someday later, on May 4. Flight AC1874 will leave at 08:15 every Saturday and can land on the Mexican airport at noon. The return service will depart at 13:10, landing in Montreal at 18:45.

Tulum’s routes available
Recently opened, Tulum International has proven to be a hit thus far, with loads of airlines announcing recent routes to the latest airport. As of December, only two carriers serve Tulum, Aeromexico and Viva Aerobus. They provide 33 weekly flights to TQO; Aeromexico flies from Mexico City International Airport twice every day. Viva Aerobus offers flights from Guadalajara, Mexico City International, Felipe Ángeles International, Monterrey, and Tijuana. It is a map of all town connections Tulum could have next 12 months:

Nevertheless, starting next 12 months, international airlines will begin servicing the airport:
- Delta Air Lines will operate every day nonstop service from Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) starting March twenty eighth.
- Spirit Airlines will launch two recent routes from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO) starting on March 28.
- American Airlines will launch 4 every day non-stop flights from Charlotte (CLT), Dallas Fort Price (DFW), and Miami (MIA) starting March 28.
- United Airlines will launch three routes starting in March, flying from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).
