Singapore Airlines announced new cabin products for all four classes on November 6, 2026, with a planned investment of S$2 billion. The airline plans to begin introducing them progressively in the second half of 2027.
Key details
- The planned rollout covers 41 Airbus A350-900 and A350-900ULR aircraft undergoing cabin retrofits, as well as the upcoming Boeing 777-9 fleet.
- The 777-9 is planned to receive all four new cabin classes. A350-900 retrofits are planned to include the new business-class seat, while A350-900ULR retrofits are planned to include new first- and business-class cabins.
- The reported first-class design features privacy doors, companion dining, convertible center seating and a 32-inch 4K display.
- The reported business-class seat converts to a full-flat bed measuring 79 inches long and up to 24 inches wide. Selected center seats can also form companion beds.
- The 777-9 premium-economy seat is reported to have a 40-inch seat pitch, an adjustable headrest and leg rest, and premium upholstery and cushioning.
- The 777-9 economy seat is reported to feature wool-blend upholstery, ergonomic cushioning, an adjustable headrest and a redesigned recline mechanism intended to provide more knee and shin clearance.
Singapore Airlines plans to invest S$2 billion in its new long-haul cabin products.
Why it matters
The cabin plan assigns different parts of the redesign to each aircraft type, with the 777-9 receiving all four classes and the A350 variants receiving selected new cabins. Singapore Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Lee Lik Hsin described the redesign's goals as comfort, flexibility and giving customers more control over their in-flight experience.
