CargoAi founder and CEO Matt Petot presented the company’s AI platform at a CargoTech press conference during TIACA’s Air Cargo Forum in Miami. CargoAi says its tools automate tasks including shipment-request processing, airline email handling, freight quotations and customer enquiries.

Key details

  • CargoAi says development of its platform began in 2019, initially to connect air-cargo rates, capacity and data.
  • The company says its AI processed 446,000 shipment requests over two years, averaging 1.6 seconds per request. It estimates the work saved 37,000 hours of manual data entry.
  • AirAgent processed 105,000 airline customer emails during 2026 up to the time of the report. CargoAi estimates that drafting or sending replies saved 6,100 hours; the tool processed 25,000 emails in October.
  • CargoAi says freight forwarders generated 400,000 quotations through its module during 2026 up to the time of the report. The company estimates Auto Quote could save 87,000 working hours by preparing quotes with live airline rates and additional cost inputs.
  • The platform connects forwarders to live rates from 209 airlines and provides shipment tracking across more than 260 airlines. CargoAi says 6,935 forwarding companies searched for live rates on the platform in the prior 12 months.

CargoAi estimates that its AI processed 446,000 shipment requests in two years and saved 37,000 hours of manual data-entry work.

Why it matters

For freight forwarders and airlines, automating requests, quotation preparation and routine email work can reduce manual steps in commercial operations. CargoAi’s platform combines live airline rates with inputs such as trucking costs, local charges and forwarder margins, while its Aike agent handles customer questions about rates, tracking and bookings through CargoMART, email and WhatsApp.

What happens next

CargoAi says AirAgent supports staged email automation, from filtering and reading messages to drafting and replying, and that AI-drafted answers increased ninefold in October compared with September. How might AI change the day-to-day work of air-cargo teams?
